# Dutywall

> Facility digital signage and emergency mass-notification. On-site appliance. Optional outbound-only cloud. Invite-only preview.

Dutywall (https://dutywall.com) is a project of Diversified Tech Solutions (https://diversifiedtechsolutions.com/). It turns hallway and break-room screens into managed signage and notification endpoints.

## Facts
- Displays talk only to a local Linux/Pi box (the site manager).
- Cloud is optional and outbound-only; it cannot dial into the LAN.
- Site license: Home is the free download (4 screens, the word Home on every board). Business $1,200 once per site, Enterprise $1,000 per site (4+). A signed license file on the box removes the cap and the Home mark. Updates after year one are optional. The installed version keeps running.
- Optional hardware: appliance $1,800 (license plus an N100/N150 mini PC). Pi kiosk $149 to put a non-Roku TV on an existing box.
- Cloud control plane is optional: Free; Standard $8/screen/month (boards, announcements, news/sports/markets sync, 7-day check-ins); Pro $15/screen/month (local & civic content pack: AQI, UV/pollen, quakes, tides, roads, school closings, calendar, plus sports logos, remote relaunch/sideload, digests, 30-day check-ins, larger team/audit). Facility Alerting is a separate monthly add-on, $149 or $299 per site, for cloud emergency takeover. It is not the on-box panic button or NWS, and it is not included in the $15.
- Content: video, slideshows, web pages, weather, radar, safety/shift boards, clock, notices, QR, line status.
- Compose layouts: full, split, main+ticker, picture-in-picture, PiP+ticker.
- Live cameras: RTSP bookmarked on the box, remuxed on-site. WebRTC on PC/Pi/tablet kiosks is typically ~0.5–2s lag; Roku HLS ~6–12s. Capacity + lag guide: https://dutywall.com/cameras
- News: multi-provider headlines (NPR, BBC, Reuters, AP, and more) configurable in Settings.
- Tickers: custom, NWS, news, or notice; quiet NWS ticker reports no active alerts plus forecast.
- Alerting: panel presets, JSON panic webhook, CAP ingest, NWS active alerts (api.weather.gov).
- Per-zone emergencies (not only all-screens).
- Players: web renderer on Pi, Windows, Android/Fire TV, browsers; Roku sideload channel supported.
- First geography: East Tennessee (Tri-Cities, Knoxville; NWS KMRX) and Western North Carolina (Asheville, Boone).
- Cloud signup is invite-only. No public Stripe checkout on the website.
- Not a UL fire alarm; complements PA/radio/SMS.
