How an emergency gets on the wall

• Panel: presets (lockdown, weather, medical, all-clear) with optional zone.
• Panic webhook: POST /alert/trigger with a token. JSON intent or CAP XML.
• NWS: the box polls active alerts for your lat/lon and maps event types onto presets. Manual always overrides auto. Alerts clear on expiry.

Zones

A campus is not one speaker circuit. Dutywall can paint “efficiency” without touching “lobby,” or the reverse. Roku channel v1.5 honors per-zone emergencies; the web renderer always could.

What it is not

It is not a UL-listed fire alarm, not a replacement for radio, and not a promise that a TV will outrun a PA. It is the visual layer for people who will not hear a speaker or will not look at a phone.

Facility Alerting is a cloud add-on entitlement when you use the control plane. On a standalone box, inbound alerting is just a token you set locally.
