A control plane the box calls. Not a hole in the firewall.

Cloud accounts are invite-only during preview. There is no public self-serve checkout. Manual billing is enough to run orgs, sites, and entitlements.

What the cloud adds

Organizations, roles, site tokens
Screen inventory reported by the box
Desired content, schedules, and zoned emergencies pushed down
Usage snapshot (screens / sites) for later billing

What it does not add

It does not stream your cameras to us. It does not require Stripe. It does not replace the box. If the internet dies, the site keeps the last desired state and local NWS/panic.
