macOS

macOS is a lab box, not the plant default.

Docker Desktop on a Mac runs the same image. MediaMTX cannot use Linux host networking, so you use the Desktop overlay. Prefer Linux in the building.

docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.windows.yml up -d --build

The file is named docker-compose.windows.yml because Docker Desktop (Windows or Mac) cannot do Linux network_mode: host. Same overlay, same reason.

Confirm

curl -sS http://127.0.0.1:8090/healthz

Panel: http://<Mac-LAN-IP>:8090/. Allow 8090 in the macOS firewall if TVs cannot reach it.

Cameras: same caveats as Windows Desktop.
