Screens

Every screen talks to the box, never to dutywall.com.

The master URL is always http://<BOX-LAN-IP>:8090. Open /player with no id to get a six-character enroll code, then bind it in the box panel.

DisplayWhat to installNotes
Any browser / Fire TV SilkOpen /playerNo install. Demo or a spare stick. Not a locked kiosk.
Raspberry Pi as a TVdutywall-pi-agent.tar.gzBest new screen: CEC power. Not the Docker box.
Existing Roku TVdutywall-roku-channel.tar.gzDeveloper Mode. Panel → Install/Update, or ./install.sh.
Windows mini-PC as a TVdutywall-windows-agent.tar.gzinstall.ps1 -MasterUrl "http://BOX:8090", not Docker.
Fire TV / Android TV / tabletdutywall-android-kiosk.tar.gzSource; build the APK. Silk/Chrome at /player is enough to prove a screen.

Browser / tablet

  1. Open http://<BOX>:8090/player (leave the id blank).
  2. A 6-character code fills the screen.
  3. Box panel → enroll → code + name + location → Bind.

Raspberry Pi kiosk

tar -xzf dutywall-pi-agent.tar.gz
cd dutywall-pi-agent-*
sudo ./install.sh
sudo nano /etc/dutywall-kiosk.conf
# MASTER_URL=http://<BOX-LAN-IP>:8090
# SCREEN_ID= (blank = enroll code on the TV)
sudo systemctl start dutywall-kiosk

Need this Pi to be the box instead? Pi as site manager.

Roku

Enable Developer Mode + Fast TV Start. Username is always rokudev.

./install.sh <ROKU-IP> <DEV-PASSWORD>
# optional launch against the box:
./install.sh <ROKU-IP> <DEV-PASSWORD> http://<BOX-LAN-IP>:8090 Lobby

Then add the TV in the box panel (id, IP, group, same password) so heartbeats and later Install/Update work. There is no Roku Store listing.

Windows screen (kiosk, not the box)

tar -xzf dutywall-windows-agent.tar.gz
# elevated PowerShell on the PC driving the TV:
.\install.ps1 -MasterUrl "http://<BOX-LAN-IP>:8090"

Need this PC to be the box instead? Windows as site manager.

Fire TV / Android

Edit master_url in app/src/main/res/values/strings.xml, ./gradlew assembleRelease, adb install. Until then, Silk/Chrome at the box /player is enough.

Questions

Does the Pi kiosk download from the cloud?

No. Download the zip here, then the Pi only talks to the box on the LAN.

Why won’t a Roku open localhost?

BASE_URL must be the box LAN IP the TV can route to, not 127.0.0.1 on the box.
